STAR-H has been delving into the realm of small, highly-customized antennas for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) that often require rapid-paced design and development iterations and heavily optimized shapes to fit into tight spaces. To assist in the development of these products, STAR-H has acquired a 3D printer capable of producing parts from ABS plastic with complex geometries in a short period of time.
This new capability will open doors to new possibilities for STAR-H, as complex parts can now be quickly made for difficult and rapid turnaround projects. While the material is limited to ABS plastic, the parts can also be used as intermediary steps in other manufacturing processes, potentially allowing other previously-difficult products to now be achievable.
The 3D printer is just the latest in STAR-H's manifest of small-scale manufacturing capabilities.
